Kylie McCain breaks the 100m backstroke world record on the second night of the Australian Olympic Swimming Trials

Adelaide, Australia – Kylie McCain broke the 100m backstroke world record on the second night of the Australian Olympic Swimming Trials.

McCain, 19, clocked 57.45 in the final at the South Australian Aquatic Center on Sunday night.

McCain’s time improved to the previous world mark of 57.57 set by American Regan Smith in 2019.
