Two men and one woman have finished in the top three of the inaugural Scandinavian mixed golf tournament.
GOTHENBERG, Sweden – Two men and one woman finished in the top three of the inaugural Scandinavian mixed golf tournament on Sunday, with Jonathan Caldwell winning by one stroke.
The event was held for the first time on the European Tour. It started with 78 men and 78 women competing on the same course for a trophy and a prize money pool. It was hosted by Annika Sorenstam and Henrik Stenson.
Caldwell shot 8-under 64 in the final round, including eight birdies, two bogeys and an eagle, in par-4 14th. The Northern Irishman finished 17th overall, ahead of second-place Adrian Otegui (67).
Otaegui had a put to win on the 18th but the Spaniard pushed his birdie effort four feet out of the hole and missed the return.
English golfer Alice Hewson (69), who won the South African Women’s Open in 2020, was two shots behind Caldwell in third.
Caroline Hedval was one of two women and two men who shared a one-stroke overnight lead, but the Swede dropped to 18th after a card of 76.
