EU regulator OKs Pfizer vaccine boosters for 18 and older


The European Union’s drug regulator has extended its support to booster shots of the Pfizer-BioNtech COVID-19 vaccine for people 18 years of age and older.

Amsterdam – The European Union’s drug regulator on Monday extended its support to booster shots of the Pfizer-BioNtech COVID-19 vaccine for people aged 18 and older.

The European Medicines Agency said a booster dose “may be considered for at least 6 months after a second dose for people 18 years of age and older.”

The agency also said it supports giving a third dose of Pfizer-BioNTech, or Moderna Vaccine, to people with severely weakened immune systems at least 28 days after their second shot.
