Former President Donald Trump wants a federal judge in Florida to force Twitter to reinstate its account, which the company suspended in January after a deadly storm hit the US Capitol.
Twitter declined to comment on Trump’s filing on Saturday.
Trump was also suspended from Facebook and Google’s YouTube over similar concerns that he would incite violence. Facebook’s ban will last for two years, until January 7, 2023, after which the company will review its suspension. YouTube’s ban is indefinite.
In July, Trump filed suit against all three tech companies and their CEOs in the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida, claiming he and other conservatives were unfairly censored. The motion for a preliminary injunction was filed as part of Trump’s case against Twitter.
